I first started Painting/drawing etc. in January 2006, having never held a brush/pencil before (not even at school...). I was always interested in Art and enjoyed looking at pictures, but I never dreamed that I could do anything more than draw a straight line with a ruler. I am having such fun and getting so much pleasure and satisfaction from drawing and painting... and it has given me so much more insight into other artists work... (although comparisons can be very de-motivating).
My chosen medium is oil pastel on canvas, which is unusual as most people chose to use paper for oil pastel as it is a much easier surface to draw on. However, although applying oil pastel to canvas is a very laborious and time consuming process, it suits my personality and allows me to indulge my finicky side.
When not working with oil pastels, I like to paint with Acrylics which allows me to work in a faster, less inhibited mode.
